July 14th week in review!

We hope to start having a few blog posts a week, but for now we will at least have weekly posts to sum up the week.

Review of week of July 14th 2014

We got our farm shirts! These things turned out so well and we are very proud of them. We have delivered all of those that were pre-ordered and we have several extras for those of you who did not get a chance to order. We appreciate all of those who ordered and encourage others to support the farm by getting one of these awesome shirts and help us #RepTheFarm!

Eggs! Eggs! Eggs! We have lots of eggs in the incubator! These are for a customer. 28 chicken eggs! Candled on the 15th and most are looking great. 6 were not shipped properly, so not sure how those will do. The shell is dark and it was still a little early for me to tell much. We also set 32 duck eggs last night for the farm. We want lots of yummy duck for us and our customers! And we started collecting a dozen Ancona duck eggs to ship to a customer. We also have a few dozen eggs for eating available. Lots of eggs going on right now on the farm!

We have several beautiful new yarns available and more on the way in the next couple of weeks!

We also have some awesome dryer ball sets as well. These help save on electricity by helping the laundry dry faster and they last for years! No more dryer sheets!
Alpaca fiber is similar to sheep’s wool but is more silky, not prickly, and hypoallergenic because it lacks the lanolin wool has.
These yarns are hand washed, hand carded, hand dyed (if indicated), and hand spun. Discounts available when purchasing multiple skeins.Check out everything we have available in our Yarns Facebook album or in our Etsy shop!

And Finally…. Mrs. Farmer and her mother wrapped up the week with a little road trip to Duck Dance Farm in Burnsville, NC to trade some 3-week-old Ancona ducklings for some 10-week-old Ancona juveniles and a 3-week-old duckling to allow both of our farms to add some genetic diversity to our flocks. They will make great new additions to the farm and we are excited to see what the new stock brings in the fall or spring when we get to hatch some of their eggs! Had a great time touring Duck Dance Farm. We love our new stock, and really appreciate the hospitality and knowledge shared on our visit!

The new additions!
