July 28th Week in Review!

We are way behind in posting this! Mr. Farmer has been hard at work with farm projects and Mrs. Farmer has been swamped with month’s end at her in town job.

We had another wonderful week on the farm and here is the review!

More growing grass! Mrs. Farmer loves grass. This is the Millet we planted about a month ago. Looking pretty good. WE need to reseed to fill in the patches but getting along nicely!

Glimpse into the future! Mrs. Farmer milked a friend’s goat for a week while she is on vacation. Did pretty good for the first morning alone. Almost 2 full quarts. Gotta build up the milking muscles! She did great all week!

Cute (not so) little Layk sending Mrs. Farmer off to work. He and his parents will sit sweetly and watch as we drive off the farm. It’s as if they are wishing us a good day and telling us they will keep watch while we are away. Such good pups. Layk turned 25 weeks on Tuesday and is doing wonderfully as a livestock guardian. Kyia and Layk will be relocating to the back pasture once that fencing goes up to guard the chickens, ducks, and goats there. (Update- He chases birds right now, so he will stay in the front with his dad for now and get another chance in a few months.)

Spent Friday and Saturday driving in fence posts and hanging fencing! The ducks and chickens did not get out there yet, but will soon!. Grass is looking good and the bits of rain we are getting will only help. So excited for this project to be done! Also had a post driving casualties. Ouch. Long, hard two days but it will pay off so much. Happy Farmers over here!
